Q.Are you related to Harry Potter?

A.Nope, I'm not kin to Harry Potter. I've read all the books and I like them very much. In fact, I like them so much I've read them twice. I am not, however, related to Harry, James, or Lily Potter. My kids are getting really tired of answering this question so please don't ask them either. (go to top)

Q.I can't get the puzzles to work. What do I do?

A.Print them off and use a pencil. Works every time. One of these days I might get around to learning Java, but until then they're not interactive. (go to top)

Q.Pleeeze get rid of the gray background. It takes a whole ink cartridge just to print one of your puzzles.

A.The puzzles are transparent gif files. If you see a gray background it's because that's how you have your browser set. There are several solutions. One is to set your browser background to white under the Edit/Preferences/Appearance/Colors menu. Another is to not click the "print background" button under the File/Page Setup menu. Yet another is to choose "Black & White" instead of "Grayscale" or "Color" under the Print menu. All of the above works using Netscape Communicator 4.7 on a Macintosh and should work on PCs using other browsers. (go to top)

Q.When I print your puzzles they're tiny. Make them bigger!

A.Well, I'm not sure what to tell you on this one. When I print them, they are exactly 1 page. You might check your printer settings and make sure you're printing at 100% and also click (or unclick, experiment with this one) the "fit to page" box. On some systems it may help to set your monitor depth to display text as large as you can (640 X 480 or something close to it). You can, of course, use a copy machine with enlarge/reduce capabilities and make them whatever size you want! (go to top)

Q.How do I make my own puzzles?

A.There are a couple of ways. There are sites on the Internet where you can type in your words and they will make a puzzle for you. Another is to buy puzzle making software and make your own. I guess you could also make one just using a good word processing & drawing program (like AppleWorks ) but I don't think that would be fun and I wouldn't want to try it. (go to top)

Q.Where are the answers? I need help.

A.Sorry, but I don't provide the answers, only the puzzles. It works out pretty well, I get to do the hard part, you get to do the fun part. ;-) (go to top)

Q.Can I post your 'whatever puzzle' on my site? It fits in with my other stuff. Pleeeze!

A. Nope, but thanks for asking. (go to top)
